Get a single view of your customers with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Active Audiences.

Seems like every week brings a new announcement from Salesforce about a tool that will help businesses better reach and serve their customers. This week was no exception with the recent announcement of Active Audiences for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Active Audiences, part of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud
According to Salesforce, more than 75 of the world's top advertisers are using the Marketing Cloud. Active Audiences gives those advertisers the ability to use customer data collected from their CRMs -contact emails, usage statistics, etc. -and apply it in real-time towards social advertising, which provides exponentially greater returns than current online advertising practices like cookie-based ad placement. Thanks to Salesforce's already existing partnerships with every major social network, the cloud computing company is able to easily integrate its existing capabilties into intuitive social marketing campaigns.

Steve Irvine, Global Director of the Facebook Marketing Partner Program had this to say about Active Audience:

“The future is people-based marketing, which is a shift from delivering advertising that reaches everyone to delivering ads to the people who are most relevant...new capabilities  from Facebook Marketing Partners, like Salesforce's Active Audiences product, allow marketers to connect with their customers in new ways by optimizing Facebook ad campaigns based on anonymized customer interactions.”

Salesforce makes dupe records a thing of the past with Duplicate Alerts and Blocking.

The number one reason for CRM failure is bad data, and duplicate records are a big part of turning your data bad. Duplicate Alerts and Blocking, a new feature found in the Salesforce Spring '15 Release, will help make that a thing of the past! The new addition provides the solution Salesforce users have been  clamoring for for years. Previous solutions existed but they were limited to apps downloaded from the AppExchange, and many of those solutions were expensive, limiting them to only the big enterprises.

Salesforce has released a guide to the new tools, which you can download here, but we've outlined the most important points below.
  • Users now have the ability to configure rules for identifying duplicates (matching rules) and for defining what will happen once duplicate records are identified (duplicate rules).
  • Users can now check new records against existing records in multiple object types with cross-object duplicate checking, as well as use conditional filters that limit when duplicate rules are to be used (for those cases when dupe records are necessary).
  • Politicians have "fuzzy math." Salesforce users now have "fuzzy logic", or algorithms that can catch similarities in certain object fields.

Dreamforce, Dreamforce 2014, salesforce, Salesforce Admin, Salesforce consulting miami, Salesforce customization, Salesforce customization Miami, Salesforce Miami, Salesforce News,
Users can configure standard matching rules for identifying duplicate records, or create custom ones.

Dreamforce, Dreamforce 2014, salesforce, Salesforce Admin, Salesforce consulting miami, Salesforce customization, Salesforce customization Miami, Salesforce Miami, Salesforce News,
Conditional filters use field-level attributes to limit duplicate rules when needed.

Duplicate Alerts and Blocking is a great addition to the B2B data capabilities already provided by Salesforce's Data.com.There's no denying this will be a powerful tool for businesses of all sizes. Larger enterprises will be able to greatly improve the quality of their data while saving money, sometimes upwards of thousands of dollars a year. Smaller companies will no longer have to spend valuable time purging their databases of dupe records.

SkyPlanner travels to Latin America!

SkyPlanner Managing Director Rene Garcia recently returned from a two week tour of four major South American markets, where he rolled-out a project SkyPlanner is currently working on for the Latin America division of broadcast media giant Discovery Communications. The tour is just the next step in the project and is the result of months of hardwork at SkyPlanner headquarters. Rene travelled to the Discovery offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Bogota, Colombia; and Mexico City, Mexico, where he presented the scope of the project to each market's key personnel.

The Apple Watch and Salesforce: The best combo of tools since the hammer and nail got together.

The Internet of Things revolution (of which SkyPlanner, South Florida's Salesforce consulting company, has written about previously) has reached a huge milestone with the release of the Apple Watch, and once again Salesforce is leading the way.

Within hours of the official unveiling of the Apple's newest gadget, salesforce.com announced Salesforce for Apple Watch: a collection of some of the #1 CRM platform's biggest products all in one tiny, wearable package.

Salesforce for Apple Watch will feature these three components:
  1. Salesforce Analytics Cloud for Apple Watch. Launched at Dreamforce '14, the Analytics Cloud is the newest (and one of the most powerful) weapons in the Salesforce arsenal. The Salesforce Analytics Cloud for Apple Watch will give users access to insights mined from the ridiculous amounts of data analyzed by the system, all on their wrists. Imagine being able to review dashboards while in a crowded coffee shop without having to fumble around for your phone! The seamless Handoff feature will allow users to transfer their view from the Apple Watch to their iPhone without hassle, and Voice Search will allow for hands-free queries.

  2. Salesforce1 for Apple Watch. The Salesforce1 platform puts the power of Salesforce applications at users' finger tips but even that has its drawbacks. You need to have your phone out. With Salesforce1 for Apple Watch having your phone stashed in your briefcase or on silent no longer means missing important notifications. Now they're available on your wrist. As long as your arm is free you'll get the notifications (and, frankly, if your arm is pinned you probably have bigger problems than a missed notification).

  3. Salesforce Wear Developer Pack for Apple Watch. The pièce de résistance of the Salesforce for Apple Watch, the Salesforce Wear Developer Pack for Apple Watch, will give the more than 2 million Salesforce1 developers throughout the world the tools they need to create enterprise-level apps for their customers' wrists. Salesforce Developer Packs have already spawned a slew of great applications for other devices including Android Wear and Pebble, and the greater capabilities of the Apple Watch are sure to take those business tools to even greater heights.

As always, Salesforce has created a Jony Ive-esque video that you can watch below. You can also learn even more on salesforce.com's Salesforce for Apple Watch site here.

The adoption of wearables has been steadily growing over the past few years and many have waited with bated breath for Apple's own entry into the market. So far the Apple Watch seems like a game-changer for the wearables industry. Considering that the iPhone is far-and-away the best selling mobile device on the market, the excitement about the Apple Watch surely means that it will be a success (even if at a smaller scale). Salesforce is a natural fit for a wearable with the capacity of the Apple Watch so we're sure we will see many more application roll-ed out in the near future. At SkyPlanner we're very excited about the possibilities and opportunities for our customers, especially those whose businesses frequently take them out of the office.

Old habits die hard: SkyPlanner delves into the inner-workings of repetition and how it drives consumer behaviors.

Habits. Everyone has them. At SkyPlanner, South Florida’s premier Salesforce consulting company, we always need our morning coffee before setting off on a day of fulfilling work for our various clients. You may eat the same thing for breakfast every morning without a second thought or follow the same route home from work without having to think of which turns to take.

Habits drive most of our daily doings. And the same thing goes for customers. Habits drive the purchases of most consumers. Take, for example, when buying a sandwich for lunch at Subway or Quiznos that chips are a necessary side item every time. The chips, for the most part, are not going to add much to the meal but they are usually purchased all the same because the pairing has become a habit in the United States.

Consumer behavior is defined as “the study of individuals, groups, or organizations and the processes they use to select, secure, and dispose of products, services, experiences, or ideas to satisfy needs and the impacts that these processes have on the consumer and society.” SkyPlanner has learned that there is a three part “loop” of consumer behavior: the cue, the routine, and the reward.

The Cue: The feeling, action, event, or that triggers the beginning of the routine.
The Routine: The actual behavior being performed.
The Reward: The reaction that’s a direct result of the routine as triggered by the cue.

Figuring out where products or services lie in the loop can be difficult for businesses. If a company is releasing a never-before-seen product then it needs to establish a cue and that revolves around also establishing a routine and reward. If an enterprise is entering a field where cues and routine are already established, such as the toothpaste industry, then establishing the product as a reward would be the main focus.

If the desire for improved business processes for your business ever triggers the need to seek out a Salesforce partner, make it a routine to reach out to SkyPlanner. You’ll be rewarded with excellent service with a personal touch. At SkyPlanner, South Florida’s premier Salesforce consulting company, we make it a habit of working hard to provide our clients with the very best in business process optimization, CRM consulting, and Force.com customization, among other services.

SkyPlanner is FOUR! We celebrated with a fun and water-filled adventure!

Soaked but happy!

This past week SkyPlanner, South Florida's Salesforce consulting company, celebrated its fourth anniversary. Last year the team celebrated by taking Dave & Buster's by storm. This year SkyPlanner took some time off from our many projects to descend onto Miami's famed Bayside Marketplace to celebrate the grand occasion. The celebration began with a great meal at Lombardi's Ristorante-Miami overlooking the water. Lunch was followed up with an exciting (and soaked) speedboat tour of Biscayne Bay and South Beach courtesy of Thriller Miami Speedboat Adventures.

  • According to an article in CRM Magazine, 50 to 80 percent of CRM implementations in the late 90's and early into the 2000's resulted in failure. The foremost reason for failures in CRM adoption is that all too often systems are convoluted and eventually become a burden for the people whose lives they are supposed to make easier. SkyPlanner has compiled a checklist of steps an enterprise should take when first implementing a CRM solution. Read all about it here! [via The SkyPlanner Blog]
  • Salesforce has created the e-book 130 Sales Tips for 2015 to round up the best sales tips the company could find so that you can succeed in 2015 (and beyond).
