Whether we’re coming up with unique ways to customize a new client’s Salesforce platform to make their business as efficient as possible, or finding solutions to problems that arise for existing clients, SkyPlanner developers require a high level of creative abilities. That’s why we’re always searching for new ways to boost the level of creativity around our offices. While last-minute panic can lead to some good thinking, there are better ways to get the creative uses flowing. Based on our research SkyPlanner has developed a list of creativity-boosting tips that is sure to help even the most experienced creative mind:
  • Jot down any idea you have as soon as you have it. This is important for two reasons: 1) even if you think an idea is dumb or unfeasible it could be the starting off point to something great and 2) you might think you’re going to remember remember but chances are that you’ll forgeta key part, or all, of the idea sooner rather than later.
  • Keep challenging yourself with questions everyday. Ask yourself why on numerous topics. It’ll force you to search for answers and that will spark new ideas.
  • Stay up-to-date on everything happening in your field. Not only will this give you brand-new inspiration for creativity everyday but it’ll also helps you avoid going in directions that have already been traveled.
  • Learn about everything you can even if those things are not related to your field or industry. More often than not a working knowledge of a wide variety will help you come up with stronger ideas, especially if you’re trying to come up with solutions for existing problems..
  • Take part in creative activities. Anything that keeps your mind working will help you in everything you do. Some of the world’s greatest problem-solving discoveries were the result of other pursuits. Just look at Viagra.
  • Be confident in your abilities. If you go into any creative process thinking you won’t come up with something good then, frankly, you won’t. You have plenty of strengths and skills. Use them.
  • Conversely, know yourself. Strive to be self-aware. Be aware of, and accept, your weaknesses because working to overcome those will help you find creative ways to solve other problems.
  • Learn when it’s best to abandon ideas. Sticking to something that just isn’t working does no one any good. If you think an idea or solution is worthwhile but you just can’t figure it out then store it away and come back to it later. It’s better than being stagnant.
  • Accept the contributions of others. No matter how good you are at something- be it science, art, sports strategy, etc.- there will be people who can give you new ways of looking at things. Embrace that instead of being stubborn and rejecting it.
  • Be loose. Don’t approach everything with the same process all the time. Adapt and evolve. This doesn’t mean that you should keep a schedule. It means you should be comfortable with changes.
  • Lastly, always be aware. Even the smallest things can provide a creative spark.
